Lake View Goes to Spain and France

Lake View Goes to Spain and FranceSaint Augustine once said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” This impactful and truthful statement encourages travel and promotes it as a form of knowledge; knowledge not found in books or blogs. Sixteen Lake View Wildcats will be representing our HOME in Spain and France over spring break. Mr. Brown and Ms. Méndez from the World Language Department will be accompanying students on a ten-day trip to Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris. We will see magical sites such as La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, La Plaza Mayor in Madrid, and the Musée du Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  Our palates will experience the richness that Spanish and French cuisine have to offer. Our students will challenge themselves and take chances with the languages that they have been studying and converse with locals during our activities. Here’s what some of our travelers are saying about the upcoming trip:”I am excited to be immersed in new cultures, and to meet people who I will never forget.” –Taffy R.

“Traveling is exciting, but taking our HOME to new countries as a Lake View family will be an unforgettable experience.” –Priscila S.
“It has been many years since my own high school spring trip to Spain, which inspired me to become a World Language teacher. Now I am excited to be able to take my students on their first trip to Europe and share the great joys and wonders that traveling can bring.” –Ms. Méndez

We are excited to bring our newfound knowledge, our stories, and of course our pictures back to Lake View and share our experiences with our fellow Wildcats. Follow us on Twitter for updates during the trip @tabrown18 (Mr. Brown) and @SrtaMendez21 (Ms. Méndez). ¡Hasta pronto! À bientôt!
